Frequently Asked Questions About the Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kit™

Gray-Haired Granny on a rocking chair with her bookQ: I want to participate because bullying really bothers me, but I can’t afford to sponsor even 1 class. Any ideas?

A: I’m glad you’re excited about the program and want to participate!  Here’s a thought.  If you belong to any groups (i.e. Mommy’s groups, civic groups, etc.), perhaps you and several friends can pool your funds to sponsor a class.  And how much more special it’ll be if one of you has a child in the classroom y’all sponsor.

Q: Can I sponsor a group of children besides those in a school classroom setting?

A: You bet! You can probably think of many deserving, organized youth groups that would appreciate your generosity.

Q: Will my sponsorship be tax deductible?

A: To be sure, Granny’s no accountant, so I won’t be handing out any tax advice.  But, I did ask my accountant your question and what she said satisfied me.  I suggest you consult your tax advisor as well.

Q: Am I limited to the number of classrooms I can sponsor?

A: What a great question!  You’ll touch the lives of more children and their families with each additional classroom you sponsor—there is no limit!

Q: What do I do if the class I want to sponsor has less than 26 students?

A: Since you’re giving the program to a school or organized youth group, you could give the extra books to the school library or even your local library.  That way other children will benefit from your gift as well.

Q: What if there are more than 26 students in the class I sponsor? Can I get additional books?

A: Certainly.  Just let us know how many you’d like, and we’ll get them to you.  Plus, it’s only $10 extra/child to include them in the program.

Q: How do I go about getting the Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kit™ to the class I sponsor?

A: Great question!  You can personally take the tool kit to the school’s principal (download Letter to the Principal here) so it can be given to the teacher of the classroom you’re sponsoring or give it to the teacher yourself.  Or if you prefer, we’ll be happy to ship the tool kit directly to the teacher at the school.

Q:  I don’t know any k-3 teacher’s classroom to sponsor.  But, this is a great idea, and I’d like to participate in your program.  I want to do my part to help stop bullying now.  Any suggestions?

A:  First of all, I want to commend you for wanting to make a difference about this horrible issue!  Yes, there definitely is a way you can help. Right now, teachers all across the country are raising their hands saying they’d like to receive the Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kit.™  But, they don’t have sponsors for their classrooms yet.

So, a list is being compiled of all these teachers’ names.  They’re just waiting for caring folks such as you to purchase tool kits.  And as tool kits are made available for these teachers’ classrooms, they’ll be shipped out to them in the order the teacher registered for the program.

Plus, you’ll receive a thank you card from StoryTime Club™ with the name of the classroom/s you sponsored with the Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kit.™  And if you’ve never experienced the pleasure of receiving a thank you card or letter from a child, you’ll really get a kick out of reading the ones you’ll be getting because of your generosity.  Now while I can’t absolutely guarantee that will happen, I always encourage the children to send notes of thankfulness and appreciation to their sponsor for the kind gift.

Q: Granny, I’m a member of a civic organization. We’re always on the look-out for innovative ways to raise funds for our organization to give back to the community. Can we offer your Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kits™ to our neighbors?

A: Sure thing! And when you do, you’ll be benefiting your community in several ways. First, the money your organization makes as a result of the sponsorships it secures will help you reach your goal for your community project. But also, the children in the classrooms who receive the Help Stop Bullying Now! Tool Kits™ and their families will continue to reap the benefits of the program for years to come. My program can even be used as a fundraiser for PTAs/PTOs.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Gray-Haired Granny and her colorful coatQ:  Hey, Granny, I really like the style and color of your hair.  Who does it for you?

A:  I have a very talented stylist, Marsha Powell, with Noveau Hair Salon in Garner, NC.  If you’d like to see what Marsha can do for your crowning glory, give her a call at 919-771-0202. Now regarding does she or doesn’t she, what you see is what you get!  I grayed mighty early and just choose never to cover it up.  One time I did let a colorist add highlights to my hair but, to tell ya’ the truth, I couldn’t tell she’d done anything at all.  Needless to say I never tried THAT again.

Q:  I just LOVE your coat!  Where on earth did you find it?

A:  I thought of what I wanted in a coat then designed it myself. Three different seamstresses had a hand in making it.  My embroiderer, Lillian Holland of Lillian’s Embroidery (919-639-4637), spent countless hours working to make it what it is today.  I sure appreciate her tireless efforts.
